Product details

Schubert 3 was composed at the request of brilliant pianist Ian Holtham. The request was to compose a work that related in some way to the third movement of Schubert's iconic last piano Sonata (D960). I chose to create a temporal deconstruction of the third movement. My approach was inspired by commercial recording studio remix and edit processes which involves slicing, layering and moving sound elements to create something new. The new work is to be played in the same program as the D960 and to be heard as a distorted sonic reflection of the original.
