This product forms part of the following series: Listening Room.
Three musical pieces presented under the title 'Please don't shoot the piano player'.
'Silent motion': an original radiophonic composition constructed from a mix of silent film music, period writings and sound effects. It lampoons those who would set up hierarchies in art. Reader: Virginia Baxter. Samples and MIDI synthesiser: Robert Iolini. Keyboards: Chris Abrahams.
Broadcast on The Listening Room, on ABC Classic FM, 12 June 2000.
'Into heat': Abrahams discusses some of his ideas about solo piano work, and plays several short pieces.
'Revolutions in the sun': Echoing the intention of revolutionary overtures created by composers such as Shostakovich, the piece asks the question "is there life beyond the capitalisation of space within the practices of life and art?" Radiophonic/electronic work.
Non-commercial recording, for study purposes only.
