Summary: In this piece composer Ros Bandt performs inside a new exhaust stack in Melbourne, whose primary function is to funnel car fumes into the atmosphere. Before the fans were switched on, Bandt researched the sonic possibilities of the huge stack and played an array of her instruments inside: a medieval psaltery, Renaissance flute, Indonesian gender, gong and clay drum, viola da gamba and sopranino recorder, as well as the stack itself.
