'The beacons' is a radiophonic composition by Melbourne composer Shaun Rigney. A poetic reverie fashioned into a musical work, it is inspired by the flashing shipping-channel beacons which are visible around the horizon of Port Phillip Bay from dusk and dawn. Poems, spoken word and musical performance by Shaun Rigney.
Non-commercial recording. For study purposes only.
'There are warnings of gales' is a sound work created for an installation at Elizabeth Bay House, Sydney, once home to the renowned entomologist Alexander Macleay. Drawn from archival sources of insect sounds and BBC broadcasts of meterological conditions in the seas around the British Isles.
