Product details

Fans of Bill Frisell and Jerry Douglas will readily warm to this album. It has a quiet, soulful sound epitomised by the opening track Forbidden Fruit and Nut, with its languid melody from Reid's National steel guitar and lyrical solos by both Coman and Swanton. This sensuous tone continues throughout the CD. Highlights include Swanton's touching composition, In Love, and the closing track, Grace, which features the beautifully ethereal voice of special guest, Wendy Matthews. Reid's Celtic influences are married to Hamish Stuart's New Orleans sensibilities on Om Shanty and Jessica's Jump. Coman displays his highly original guitar and compositional touch on A Thing and Barn's Gospel. Swanton's wonderful arco solo on Eastbound Train provides one of the CD's most compelling moments.
