Product details
The Sipping wheel is a short dance piece for string septet (or string orchestra), composed as an introductory piece to a longer ballet of the same name.
The piece is written in mixed meters, using a constant pulse to underlie the spinning and whirling of the dance. Modal harmonies and consistent rhythms modulate with the waves of textural change, as the dramatic pace quickens and relaxes throughout the piece.
