Product details

A compilation that could be subtitled 'Tracks for our Times' Theme Park is a celebration of the diversity that shapes our society and our music. The opening track - Millenium Jitterbug - invites us to enter the Park on a note of funky self confidence. Once there that confident step is rewarded with a variety of thrilling and engaging musical experiences sparked by the interplay between the familiar and the unfamiliar, the immediate foreground and new horizons. The styles and moods vary from the gentle Country lilt of Big Moon to Mara!'s lament, a simple rendering of Henry Lawson's poem Past Carin'. There is the proud underpinning drone of the didgeridu on Common Ground, the playful response to the Hungarian folk melody of No Job Too Small and the richness of the extended centrepiece of this collection, Folk Song by Ten Part Invention, which weaves in and out of a Moravian folk song elements of blues, New Orleans, free jazz...And there's more.
