Sheet Music: ScoreThree miniatures : for piano / Claudio Pompili.by Claudio Pompili (1980)

Product details
The Three Miniatures for pianoforte were written in 1980 within the first two months of commencing my composition studies with Richard Meale at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide. They are part of a group of early works exploring a variety of pitch modes and serialism. My models derived primarily from Messiaen, Schoenberg and Webern.
These first tentative essays in a contemporary classical genre (having just made the transition from a successful early career as a guitarist in progressive rock'n'roll) are 'juvenalia' (albeit that I was 30 years old), yet hold the seeds of my mature compositional style. My interests were then-and remain still-in florid musical gestures, technical virtuosity, and quirky counterpoint contrasted with cantabile sections, which permeate the studies.
