Work Overview
in situ bacia is a series of six interlinking radiophonic/ videophonic miniatures reflecting my travels in the Amazon.
-
biomass....the forest floor extends throughout the jungle in a thick, amorphous state of decomposition. However, this perennial decay plays a vital role within the jungles ecosystem, providing a wellspring of nutrients and material vital for the continuance of the forests survival.
-
light traces.... mythology reflects off the surface of the river, tracing the suns arc across the sky toward a rain that unceasingly closes each day.
-
hidrosfera... much activity in the Amazon basin gravitates around the river itself...through the use of hydrophone recordings, combined with open air recordings taken in a canoe, the work situates both underwater and above water worlds side by side
-
en plein air…a short impression on the joy of waiting by a path in the forest...
-
watershed port ...an episodic fragment of memory...looking back at a riverport surrounded by forest
-
canopy das árvores - a fictional observation made from the canopy, overlooking the river with boats, birdlife, insects and occasional mammals.
