Work Overview
The music for Of Loss: Grief's Transitions was composed for a contemporary dance exploration of the processes of grief and recovery from loss. It is a sequence of linked pieces responding to possible emotional 'states'. The sound pieces were pre-recorded for dance performance in this order: denial, pain, anger, bargaining, reconstruction, depression and acceptance.

The music was generated by improvised processes in the studio then revised, added to and layered to create the sound worlds for each section, according to the time and theme specifications by the choreographer. They were segued into one continuous piece at the conclusion of the collaborative process.
