Work

Clepsydra (Water clock) : for flute, bass flute, harp, piano, acoustic bass guitar, violin and violoncello

by Marián Budoš (2013)

Work Overview

This short piece was written for the Centenary of Canberra celebrations. The theme for this concert was water and hence the title Clepsydra or Water clock. I was inspired by some of the images of waterclocks from ancient times to modern designs.

Just like a waterclock, this piece doesn't stop running. The piano is musically the engine that powers the clock. Although very short, this piece is very intense due to the non-stop playing of most of the instruments.
