Instrumentation: 3 flutes (3rd doubling piccolo, 2nd doubling piccolo 2), 2 oboes, 3 bassoons (3rd doubling contra-bassoon), 2 trumpets in B flat, 4 horns in F, 2 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (3 players), harp, piano/celeste, solo clarinet, strings (minimum 12.10.8.6.5).
