Work Overview
This piece was written in 2000 to complement the earlier and more technically demanding Shir Eres (Cradle Song), which is included on King David's Lyre, the disc released in celebration of Jerusalem's 3,000th anniversary. Like Shir Eres, the more recent Lullaby is dedicated to Zina Schiff, who first performed it as part of her Internet broadcast from Seattle in 2001.
