Work Overview

This work comes from the final opera in my cycle of operas based on the Indian epic, Mahabharata. The text, in Sanscrit, shows Krishna trying to persuade the Kauravas not to go to war with the Pandavas, but instead restore to them the part of the kingdom out of which which the Kauravas cheated them at the dice game. In the operas Krishna is sung by a countertenor.
