Work Overview
Notti Sacre delle Nuvole Bianche (Italian for "Sacred Nights of the White Clouds") uses variations of the melody of Una Notte Sacra in multiple flute parts, in order to give rise to a complex heterophony. This heterophony is enriched by the harmonic ornamentation of the tubular bells, which symbolically refer to the paamon, or bells used in ancient Jewish temple music.
