Work Overview
The coat hung at the back of the cupboard through the long summer and autumn. In winter, Alice distractedly played with the bundle of rubber bands in her pocket. The coat, back on its peg, the huntsman, stretched its elegent legs and reflected on the joy of total body massage.

The text from Bundle of Joy was the winner of the 'Mini' Saga' competition run by THE AGE (newspaper) in which entrants were required to submit a story in 50 words or less. A panel of judges looked through the serveral thousand entries and declared Bundle of Joy by Liz Ward the winner. It was published in THE AGE on January 20, 1995. Liz Ward is a Melbourne based writer and grandmother.
