Work Overview
Moonless Night is based on the famous radio play Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas. The text used in this composition comes from the introduction of Under Milk Wood, where the narrator (which in this case is the solo soprano) describes and opens us up to the world of the imaginary Welsh town of Llareggub.

All three movements presented in this edition are part of a larger song cycle titled Moonless Night, which is based on the famous radio play Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas. This version with soprano and 2 pianos is mostly a reduction of the orchestral version, even though some parts within the work have been recomposed or embellished slightly.
