Work Overview

in situ bacia is a series of six interlinking radiophonic/ videophonic miniatures reflecting my travels in the Amazon.

  1. biomass....the forest floor extends throughout the jungle in a thick, amorphous state of decomposition. However, this perennial decay plays a vital role within the jungles ecosystem, providing a wellspring of nutrients and material vital for the continuance of the forests survival.
  2. light traces.... mythology reflects off the surface of the river, tracing the suns arc across the sky toward a rain that unceasingly closes each day.
  3. hidrosfera... much activity in the Amazon basin gravitates around the river itself...through the use of hydrophone recordings, combined with open air recordings taken in a canoe, the work situates both underwater and above water worlds side by side
  4. en plein air…a short impression on the joy of waiting by a path in the forest...
  5. watershed port ...an episodic fragment of memory...looking back at a riverport surrounded by forest
  6. canopy das árvores - a fictional observation made from the canopy, overlooking the river with boats, birdlife, insects and occasional mammals.
