Instrumentation: Solo high voice (tenor or soprano), piccolo, 2 flutes, alto flute, 2 oboes, cor anglais, 2 clarinets in B flat (1st doubles clarinet in E flat), bass clarinet, alto saxophone, 2 bassoons, contra-bassoon, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (3 players), harp, celesta, strings.
