Work Overview
Nostalgia is a short guitar piece at approximately AMEB 4 level inspired by Francesco Tarrega. The title suggests the mood of the piece. It is slow and nostalgic in a rubato feel. Players have the opportunity to practise their expressive skills as well as the use of sudden dynamic changes and tempos. Students are encouraged to "bring the leading melody out" of the arpeggiated harmonies to improve their right hand technique. The piece uses bar chords in higher positions and extends reading abilities all the way to the 12th fret.
