Score & Part
Serenade : for flute & strings (piano reduction) / John Carmichael.
Library shelf no. 788.32/CAR 7 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
The musical material is shared equally between the two players although the unaccompanied opening mvt., the Soliloquy establishes the solo status of the flute part. There are darker shades throughout the first four mvts. but the Finale- Scherzando casts off the shadows in favour of lively and buoyant conclusion. There is a strong melodic element throughout.
