The opening tune is the first part of a Scottish folk tune waltz for pipes by Archibald MacNeil. This was suggested by Lloyd Gosling, and is used as a starting point for this easy little solo. The Lady of the Lake is a medieval fairy and I have related this to the Camelot legend with descriptions in the work..
Duration: 3 min.
Difficulty: Easy — AMEB Grade 4-5.
Commission note: Commissioned by Lloyd Gosling, in memory of Samantha Gosling
Based on the opening of an old Scottish waltz called 'Gareloch' by Archibald MacNeill.
- Inspired by: Scottish folk music
