Score
Three pieces : for guitar ensemble / by Richard Charlton.
Library shelf no. 785.78719/CHA 3 [Not for loan]
Work Overview
These Three Pieces were written for the Ascham School Guitar Orchestra between 1997 and early 1999. They were originally performed with 1st guitars playing Requinto parts. This version is for normal guitars with an electric or acoustic bass. A 4th guitar bass part is included so that they can be performed with only normal guitars but they will sound best if they are played by at least 2 guitars per part with a single Bass Guitar.
In the March & Viva Jujuy there are optional percussion parts in the score, and if used, they add greatly to the colour and life of the pieces. I have used a Floor Tom Tom or Conga Drum played with the hands to give a deep but not overpowering sound. Feel free to improvise with whatever is at hand, but most importantly, have fun!
