Act 2, Scene 5 | The Treehouse of Peaches & Pearle
A rather anxious Pixie (wearing rubber gloves, an apron, sporting a statuesque beehive hairdo and clutching an over-sized spatula) accosts the bemused Lucy & an amused Freckle from the balcony of her treehouse nestled inside a giant oak tree.
Instrumentation: 2 sopranos, mezzo soprano, piano & string quartet or orchestra.
Duration: 6 min.
This scene 'The Dinner Party' consists of 2 songs. 1. 'Roasting! Cooking!' and 2. 'First World Misfortune' In the opera, the songs appear in sequence, however they are able to be performed as 2 separate works. Both pieces are also arranged for mezzo soprano, soprano, piano & violin
