Work Overview
"Slipping away, to wander amongst the temples of old Kyoto, the spirit of Basho walks with me".
Matsuo Basho visited Kyoto many times in the seventeenth-century and stayed in a little hut, not far from the Togetsukyo Bridge at Arashimaya. Some years ago, I spent three days alone, wandering amongst the many temples of Kyoto. This work recalls that experience, as does the earlier work Hashi o Watarimasu.
