Work Overview
The work draws on travel notes from a journey I undertook in the Middle East. Despite thousands of years of different peoples coming and going, still traces remain of the ancient spice route across the Nabataean Desert. Across the wastes of the Wilderness of Zin, in the backstreets of Al Aqaba and between the minarets of Wadi Musa, the ghosts of these traders survive. But the Nabataeans left no inscriptions and so most of the texts in this work are nothing more than the chatter of modern-day tourists.
