Incidental music composed for the 2000 Young People's Theatre production of the Shakespeare play.
The work is capable of performance according to the excerpts of various sections (c.f. Peer Gynt)
Instrumentation: String quartet. A female vocal solo is needed in the opening and ending sections of the work, but these are not necessary for any string quartet performance of excerpts.
Duration: 25 min.
Contents note: The score is divided into various long and short sections as required by scene, Act and other breaks in the play.
Commission note: Young People's Theatre, Newcastle
The whole concept is based on a folk-like melody provided by the play's director Rod Ansell.
