Work Overview
Written to 7 poems of the late Leon Gellert (1892-1977), who was a Lance-Sergeant of the 10th Battalion, landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.
There is a separate 2-3 minute Postlude (probably only suitable for a male singer) - 'The Husband'. The cycle traverses scenes and emotions of the campaign from the landing, through battle, to the leaving when the sore is empty save for the dead.
