Work Overview
Two rousing and powerful pieces bringing to mind the epic worlds of The Lord of the Rings and A Game of Thrones.
The composer said, "When I was commissioned to compose a few pieces for the Opening Ceremony of the Rugby World Cup, Sydney 2003 I found inspiration by drawing a parallel with the warriors and knights of medieval time and of mythology and high fantasy. A stark brutality is reflected in the raw barbaric orchestrations, while chivalry and nobility can be found in the uplifting heroic themes."
