Imaginary film theme I : for piano / Michael Hannan.
Library shelf no. 786.2/HAN 41 [Not for loan]
Work Overview
Imaginary Film Theme I was the result of an attempt to
write a series of ambient piano pieces. I realised after writing
this first piece in the projected series that I was not really
suited to the ambient medium, that there was always going to be a
dramatic element in anything I write.
I called the piece Imaginary Film Theme I because it
reminded me of the wistful piano themes often used in human
interest documentaries I have seen.
The piece is based on a 12-bar minor blues form and only uses the
white keys of the piano.
