The storm before the calm (solo piano)
by Andrew Harrison (2009)

The storm before the calm is dedicated to my 21-month
old son Daniel, and reflects the many moments of pleasure that I
get from being with him on a daily basis. True to his
personality, the piece contains sudden shifts of dynamics and
tempo, as we ride the different waves of his exciting and often
emotional life together. The title refers to the wonderful storm
that tears through the house whilst he is awake, only to be
quelled at the end of the night into a restful (and blessed!)
calm when he finally goes to bed.
