Work Overview

Written in Princeton in 1989, the Prelude and Fugue was revised in 1997. It belongs to a series of works for solo cello devoted to late twentieth-century interpretation of the music of Bach.

In challenging the complete technical resources of the cellist within the Bachian harmonic template, this work is ideally suited to eisteddfods and competitions, in addition to recitals.
