Work Overview
Meditations on Light was originally conceived for the Andrea Keller Quartet with No Tango (Germany), and premiered at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival in 2012. Dedicated to my daughter, Eve Meagher, the work is in seven parts: I - Ingress, II - Refraction, III - Waves I, IV - Illuminate, V - Waves II, VI - Reflection, VII - Egress; tracing properties of light and rainbows (her pre-school fascination). Select movements feature on the 2013 album Wave Rider by the Andrea Keller Quartet with strings. Here, with guest Scott McConnachie, the largely reworked suite exists in its entirety for the first time.
