This work was written as an exploration of jazz harmonic influence in an orchestral context, drawing on the colourful orchestrations of composers such as Ravel, Debussy and Stravinsky.

Instrumentation: Piccolo, 2 flutes, 3 oboes (one doubling cor anglais), 2 clarinet in B flat, 1 bass clarinet in Bb, 3 bassoons, 4 horns in F, 4 trumpets in B flat, 2 trombones, bass trombone, tuba, timpani, percussion (4 players), strings.
