Dawn Desiderata / Raffæle Marcellino ; text adapted by the composer from Max Erhmann
Library shelf no. 782.55542/MAR 3 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
Dawn Desiderata was commissioned by the Sydney
Philharminia Choirs for the 2009 Sydney Festival for the Dawn
Awakenings events.
The text is adapted from Max Erhmann's Desiderata, which for
years was thought to be an anonymous 18th century text found by
accident in a New England Church.
The work is intended as a gentle whisper to the ear of the
community in its daily awakening of what is increasingly a
complex world, saturated with with information and knowledge.
So much so that truth, reason, emotion, lies, rhetoric, verbage
lie tanlged, undifferentiated and completely accessible to all.
