Work Overview
The title of the work is inspired by the motto of John Henry
Newman's Coat of Arms - cor ad cor loquitur (Heart Speaks to
Heart) -which is incorporated as part of the motet's lyrics. The
other component of the lyrics was taken from Mark Lane's
ordination card:
Only this I want:
to know and love
the Lord, so to
serve with you as
one, in his love. (see Philippians 3)
This motet is intended for performance in the Oratory Church of
St Boniface, Brooklyn.
