Still for String Orchestra is an enlargement of a string
quartet I composed in 1998 for Silo String Quartet. This piece is
a work of bereavement for a lost child. "Still" refers to the
feeling of a child
that is still within the womb, a child that has already left but is not yet gone. With this piece I would like to honour all parents who have experienced the loss of a child.
Year: 1998, this version: 2014
Instrumentation: String orchestra.
Duration: 6 min.
Performances of this work
21 Feb 10: Old Westmeadows Hall, Victoria. Featuring Silo String Quartet.
