Work Overview
Victimae Paschali Laudes is a setting of chant from the Liber Usualis, a book given to me by my father's family. I composed this as part of a larger 10 minute work called Memorial which was premiered in Australia, and Northern Ireland. The work was composed with pen and paper mainly outdoors in the Dandenong Ranges, where I live, and where the traditional owners are the Wurundjeri, also at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Ireland, thanks to a Phonographic Performance Company of Australia grant. Notated birdsong is a feature of the work.
