Instrumentation: Solo alto, piccolo, 2 flutes, 3 oboes, 3 clarinets in B flat, 3 bassoons, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba in E flat, timpani, percussion (3 players), piano, celeste, harp, strings.

Difficulty: Advanced

Contents note: Out of the cradle, endlessly rocking -- Hush'd be the camps today -- Look down fair moon -- Press close bare bosom'd earth -- When lilacs last in the doorway bloom'd -- Come lovely and soothing death.
