Work Overview

Summer Haze was composed to a text by Fiona Treloar, which reflects on the emotions and thoughts conjured when one returns to the bush after years in the city. The song is through-composed, though several motifs recur in different guises in both the voice and piano parts. Summer Haze is an art song in which the piano interacts with the voice and illustrats the text.
