Score

Etudes for violin / John Spence.

Library shelf no. 787.2/SPE 4 [Available for loan]

Work Overview

These studies have been composed to provide violinists with technical exercises that offer more unconventional interval patterns to work with. The focus also encompasses double stopping, rhythm and arpeggios. Dynamics are explored throughout each exercise but the final melody includes detailed expression markings. The tempo is provided for each exercise but students are advised to ignore the tempo and commence slowly and progress carefully. It is more desirable to have stable bow control, intonation and rhythm.
