Three preludes and a fugue on Bach : for marimba / Benjamin Thorn.

Library shelf no. 786.843/THO 2 [Available for loan]

Work Overview

The Three Preludes and a Fugue on BACH were composed for Claire Edwardes for performance at the New England Bach Festival.
Each movement is based in different way on the BACH (B flat, A, C, B natural) motif used by Bach in his last unfinished composition, and each also reflects a stylistic approach used by Bach as homage
rather than pastiche. So we find a pedal point, a French overture, a chorale over a flowing arpeggiated melody and a fugue.
