This short up-tempo work was written in conjunction with primary-school aged boys from north-western NSW. The text comes from my discussions with them as to what keep them amused in their free time. The general concensus seemed to be there was much mischief to be made!
Instrumentation: Two-part treble choir, piano.
Duration: 3 min.
Difficulty: Easy — slightly difficult clapping rhythms, syncopation
Commission note: Written for the 2006 Moorambilla Boys Choir
First performance: by Michelle Leonard — Sep 06. Coonamble NSW
The composer notes the following styles, genres, influences, etc associated with this work:
folk music, call and response
This work is also available for three-part treble voices with piano accompaniment.
This 2-part version features simple canonic imitation and parrallel harmony, as well as a tricky clapping section.
