by Dan Walker (2013)
Score SampleView a sample of the score of this work
This work was inspired by the early days of recording technology, particularly the work of Thomas Edison and his meglomaniacal attept to monopoloise the market with Country-wide promotional tours and smear campaigns against competitors. The repetitive 'perpetuum mobile' style accompaniment reflects the spinning of the wax cylinder or revolving record; ever spinning, until it finally becomes stuck in the final moments of the piece.
Instrumentation: 3-part Treble or Women's choir (SSA), piano accompaniment.
Duration: 4 min.
Commission note: Commissioned by Woden Valley Youth Choir.
