'Vent' - opening that allows for movement of air into a confined space. (Eng.) 'Vent' - wind (Fr.)
The combination of woodwind instruments and accordion seemed to offer many interesting possibilities as far as their timbres are concerned. A further source of ideas came from an analysis of recordings I made during an exhibition of flags mounted outdoors at Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart.
Year: 1992, this version: 2007
Instrumentation: Saxophone, accordion, cello.
Duration: 10 min.
The work was originally written for clarinet, bass clarinet and accordion. This is an arrangement for Alto Saxophone, Violoncello and Accordion which was made on request from a group of musicians in Freiburg with their own label : NU-Musik.
