Work Overview

This piece is a three-movement work for Sinfonietta. Each movement is a reflection of the life of Scheherazade, based on the poetry of Sydney writer, Kate Middleton. This piece does not contain sung or spoken text. The work is suitable as a concert piece for advanced ensemble.

Instrumentation: Flute, oboe, 2 clarinets in B flat, bassoon, 2 horns in F, 2 trumpets in B flat, tenor trombone, harp, piano, percussion (3 players), strings (2.2.2.2.1).

Duration: 14 min.

Difficulty: Advanced
