2014 Screen Music Awards - winners

The winners of the 2014 Screen Music Awards have been announced at a ceremony held at the City Recital Hall in Sydney on Wednesday. Staged jointly by APRA AMCOS and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC), the Awards recognised composers across 13 categories.
By far the most successful award recipient was Cezary Skubiszewski who was announced a winner in three categories: Best Music for a Documentary (Once My Mother), Best Soundtrack Album (The Broken Shore) and Best Music for a Television Series or Serial (Serangoon Road, award shared with his composer-producer son Jan Skubiszewski).
The coveted Feature Film Score of the Year award went to David Hirschfelder for his work on The Railway Man. David McCormack and Antony Partos won the category Best Original Song Composed for the Screen (for 'Don't Let Go' from the ABC series Rake). In the category of Best Television Theme, Burkhard Dallwitz received the Award for his work on the crime drama Fat Tony & Co.
Award for Best Music for a Mini-Series or Telemovie went to
Roger
Mason for The Outlaw Michael Howe, while Russell
Thornton secured his first Screen Music Award for his work on the
animated series Get Ace in the Best Music for Children's
Television category. First-time winners were also Luke Howard
(Best Music for a Short Film for Where Do Lilacs Come
From) and Ryan Walsh (Best Music for an Advertisement).
The Most Performed Screen Composer - Australia went to composer
Jay Stewart and the Most Performed Screen Composer - Overseas to
Neil Sutherland. The International Achievement Award for 2014 was
given to the composing partnership of Adam Gock and Dinesh Wicks.
