Gary Featherstone : Associate Artist
Born in Sydney, Gary Featherstone studied at the Sydney Conservatorium - graduating with the Diploma in Music Education and Associate Performing Diploma (in piano).
A composer of the traditional 'Romantic' style of composition, he is a prolific composer of works for piano, also composing works for orchestra. His piano works have been reviewed as, "reminiscent of Chopin"; his orchestral works as "reminiscent of Tchaikovsky".
Fifteen of his compositions are in examination syllabi of the AMEB, the Australian and New Zealand Cultural Arts Ltd. (ANZCA) and the Australian Guild of Music & Speech (AGMS).
Major works include: Piano concerto in G minor, Serenade for string orchestra, Rhapsody on an original theme for piano and orchestra, and Symphonic Fantasia - 'Peter Ibbetson' for full orchestra.
Gary Featherstone has recently been included in a number of new books - International Who's Who in Music (published in England), Five Hundred Leaders of Influence (published in USA) and Two Thousand Outstanding Musicians of the 20th Century (published in England).
