Work Overview

Tweedle Dub is an exploration of Dub music in a classical percussion context. The original Jamaican Dub music of of the 1970s used the recording studio as a key tool in its sound palette. Tweedle Dub uses only acoustic percussion instruments to recreate and explore this hybrid sound-world of reggae and electronica.
The third section of the work uses only three notes, D, F# and G in reference to Dub music's use of minimal, repetitive material.

The work was originally titled Tweedle and… but was renamed in 2018 as Tweedle Dub.
