Instrumentation: Soprano, flute (doubling alto flute), clarinet in B flat, piano, percussion (marimba (4.3), large suspended cymbal, woodblock, almglocken, 5 approximately-pitched non-metal objects (flower pots preferred), bass drum, tambour (no jingles), coarse-haired brush, thin knitting needle (ideally 2mm diameter), small packet of rice), violin, viola, cello, double bass.
